This RTS link between Johor and Singapore is estimated to cost RM 4 billion
( S$1.34 billion) crossing the 1 km (1.5 miles) Johor straits via a
purposed-built 25 m high bridge, which was mentioned in the news link
mentioned below.

It will be a straight line bridge and not of a looped-curve-line bridge that
was originally designed to enable the sloped rise to an elevated height to a
30 m high bridge at above sea level when the bridge crosses the Johor
straits.

The original looped-curved design bridge was changed to a straight line
bridge after the Johor sultan's commented of its extra costs and longer
distances and its impracticality of the "curve", as stated in the link
below.


However, given that the bridge will cost S$1.3 billion to build - which very
expensive for a 4 Km rail for a high-bridge of 25 m above sea level, it is
even wiser to keep the bridge to even to a higher level - maybe from 25 m to
35 m above sea level.

This is to enable that in the future where very tall oil rigs and big ships
have to be built and repair services in Sembawang shipyard and Keppel
shipyard, which will still be located there, can still do their businesses
and not affected from it, at all.


This "future enabler" of "future need" has to be planned and forecasted
ahead for future needs. This means Singapore had to "think and prepare"
ahead beyond its present needs of businesses at these locations of business
facilities there.

The demand for oil rigs and ship services can be up and down and will still
be needed for new built and replacements in the future, too. The market
experiences for Singapore in building oil rigs and ships repair services
will remain so.


Also, a high bridge is a "fixed asset" where in the "potential future needs
to build", the existing causeway may have to be removed when it aged "shelf
life" and "limits of capacity" cannot cope with the high volume of trucks
coming to Singapore to supply goods and foods to its potential population
growth to 10 million people.

The heavy vehicular movements stresses on the causeway. The vehicular
traffic can be very heavy due to meet the foods demand in the projected 10
million population. The heavy traffic jams and congestions of heavy trucks
and heavy cold-container trucks will be crossing at the causeway at daily at
24/7.


To make this newly proposed RTS rail bridge of 4 km long into a tourist
attraction, it should then be re-designed in a iconic way where it can give
a "similar high attraction rating" with a spectacular designs like the 1.7
km long of the iconic Golden Gate Bridge in San Francisco.

Even though the length of the Golden Gate Bridge is only 1.7 km long at 67 m
high above sea level, it is considered "short" bridge. This comparison is
based on the present standard of very long bridges that were already built
in the world. However, this Golden Gate Bridge is still the best bridge that
is still well known to the world.

Till this day, millions of tourists have gone there to sightseeing of the
golden bridge. It is part of their standard package of tour visits in their
tour itinerary to have a "must-see" in San Francisco, California, USA.


To make "tourist money", Singapore and Johor, too, can also do like-wise
with a magnificent design of a 35 to 40 m high-bridge at above sea level for
tourist to take a lift up to the top of bridge for a walk and a view of the
straits in the middle of two countries - Singapore and Malaysia, Johor.

Since the cost of the high bridge is already very expensive at RM 4 billion,
it might better off in building even higher bridge with a 4-tier level
designs from above 30 metre sea level instead.

For instance, at the lowest level is for heavy trucks and big buses and slow
coaches, the 2nd level can be for train MRT rail line, and the 3rd level is
for cars, motorcycles, and 4th level is for small electric personal mobiles
like E-scooters, bicycles and electric cycles and unicycles, disabled people
on wheelchairs, and for tourists and pedestrians to take a walk and stroll
along the 1 km wide water straits.

At every level, an efficient exhaust system to expel carbon monoxide
pollution from vehicles have to be effective to ensure the people like
pedestrians and tourist at the 4th tiered level are not suffered from
vehicle fume inhalations.

Public and private bus services can also be provided along the 4th-level
road for the pedestrians and sightseeing tourists to board and alight
anywhere between Singapore and Johor. They can also take from a number
comfortable lifts provided from the ground level to the top level for them
to expedite their trip visits. Every facility has to be meet the speedy
service expectations of the "customers need".

To rise the slope to these high levels is to have above 4-tiered road
bridges, like the one found in 2-tiered Keppel Road - Ayer Rajah expressway
to Tuas highway, that can be built along the north coast of Singapore and
Johor coast as well, such that the road is sloped gradually to the maximum
height of 30 m of the bridge for their crossing the straits.

Hope this high 4-tiered bridge will prepare Singapore to meet its future
needs of higher growth population size, high vehicular traffic size, and
higher foods transportation needs between Singapore and Johor through the
present two causeways. Bearing in mind that "height" maximises the usage of
land for Singapore.

Finally, if such 3-tiered designs are not practical and costs are
prohibitive, a deep undersea tunnel for them is the best solution. It can be
built like what the English-French JV undersea road and rail channel, and
the undersea road and rail between southern and northern islands of Japan.
