Nasi Lemak says : Spend RM 60 to 100 billion on HSR project so that 110,000
to 442,000 construction people can have jobs to work.
Dr M says: “If you are going to spend RM60bil to RM100bil so that thousands

economic benefit of RM650bil in Gross National Income by year 2069.
"There would have been 110,000 job opportunities created, which is estimated
to increase to about 442,000 by year 2069,” he said, urging for the report

PUTRAJAYA: The amount of money spent to build the Kuala Lumpur-Singapore
High Speed Rail (HSR) project does not justify the number of jobs it could
generate, said Prime Minister Tun Dr Mahathir Mohamad.
“If you are going to spend RM60bil to RM100bil so that thousands of people
can work, that's not very efficient,” he said to reporters after hosting
Ramadan break-of-fast event at Putrajaya International Convention Centre
(PICC).
He was responding to a Facebook post by former prime minister Datuk Seri
Najib Tun Razak, who defended the HSR project which was scrapped by the new
government.
Najib had said the project is projected to create RM650bil in gross national
income and create 110,000 job opportunities, which could expand to 442,000
jobs by 2069.
The Pekan MP urged the current government not to make an emotional decision
to scrap the project.
