The case for revoking his PR:
Ryan Goh was the instigator who plotted the overthrow
of the Exco of ALPA-S.
He fought against the spirit of Tripartite policy of Singapore
...Union, Management and the government.
His action could lead to serious HR problems in SIA, loss
of profit, could put the livelihood of thousands in jeopardy.
He is therefore an undesirable immigrant.

His argument against the revoke:
He has been staying in Singapore for 26 years.
The ouster of ALPHA Exco was a good thing,
the right thing to do.

Is removing his PR justified?

Bad boy.

instigator behind last year's ouster of the pilot union's executive

I cannot agree with you more. PR status has its privileges and
obligations and one of the latter is never ever to cock a snook at the
hand that feeds you.

Well done, ICA for the clear and unequivocal message to all trouble
maker PR aliens and those who landed in our Courts that they are only
here because we allow them to and not because they have been issued a
blue IC.

The ICA should now look at all PR cases to make sure that those who
enjoys our hospitality and protection are not trouble makers or
potentials and are ones who can contribute to nation building to make
our country an oasis in a swirling cesspool that is South East Asia.
Malaysian Ryan Goh, your permanent residency has been REVOKED.
Please pack your bags and return to your Malaysia kampongs asap.
Let this be a lesson to all other Malaysians as well.

Intimidation against dissenting views and actions. The whole government
machinery will pounce on you in SINapore. A case of killing one to warn
hundreds. With such fear tactics, who in SINapore dares to speak up and give
any opinion at all? Such is the political scene in SINapore and such is the
sole reason why only yesmen survives in any office.

Ryan Goh's misdeed was not in wanting to quit Singapore, but in biting the
hand that enriched his wallet for the past 26 years. He was an ingrate and
had absolutely no loyalty to an entity that he had extracted huge benefits
from.

He viewed Singapore as a sinking ship and before the ship sank, he wanted to
extract as much treasure as possible before the ship sank - maximising gain
for himself at the expense of his benefactor.

He was the mastermind behind a petition and instigated his colleagues to
sign while he protects himself by not signing. So, he will be one of the
beneficiaries if the petition succeeds but if it back-fires, he thinks he
can run scot-free while his colleagues become the scape-goats.

He instigated his colleagues to go to battle while planning an escape route
in the background. If you go to war with such a soldier in your platoon, do
you think he deserves some form of punishment?

Ryan Goh did not break any law but what he did deserves our contempt.
To cancel someone's PR on the whim and fancy of
somebody on unspecified and unsubstantiate charges
does no good to Singapore's International reputation.
It shows the lack of transperancy and the inadequacy
of the rights of the ordinary man and it's protection
under the law.
Just tell us what has Cpt Ryan Goh did is against which
part of the law in Singapore. Charged him in court if
it is really that bad.
Harry's hands are all over the places. He should realise
that this sorts of high handed tactics which he used so
blatantly is not longer acceptable in today's world.

Ryan Goh has broken no law. Otherwise, he would
be charged in court and jailed.

However, Ryan Goh was granted PR under certain
condition. If he was not happy with the conditions he
could have left Singapore 26 years ago. The grounds
for revoking his PR are stated in my previous posting.

It is just like the condition of granting work permit to
maid. They cannot get married or pregnant. It is not against
the law to get pregnant. But if they do, their work
permit is revoked and they are sent home.

It is a little overcooked to say that his PR is being
revoked on the whim and fancy of LKY. His
misdeeds are, to me, unforgivable.

IT is SIA management which is the ROOT of the HR problem! They have shot
the wrong guy lah! If anybody should be shot, it should be those in HR
management as well as the top management of SIA that should get the boot!

It is apparent that it is not only Alpha S that is unhappy, almost ALL
unions in SIA is unhappy. And it is precisely due to this "HIGH HANDED" hard
ball stand that govt stands behind SIA management that nobody dare to raise
a voice against all those bad management policies. Nobody will want to end
up like Capt Goh .

This is apparently the result of "Rule of Terror and Fear". And by revoking
Capt Goh's PR, the administration seeks to reinforce such Rule of Terror and
Fear.

They have lost sight of the root problem but only desire to maintain the
monopoly of power. And I have stated wrongly....the root problem doesn't
only lies with SIA management, but also the blanket of Fear as a result of
this Rule of Terror and Fear. It is ironical for the administration to say
they are here to solve the problem but in fact, they are part of the root
problem as well. And most importantly, they didn't see the fact that they
are indeed part of the problem.

Having communication needs not only two willing parties, but a conducive
environment without fear and favour is more important. To implement such
rule of Terror and Fear is detrimental to such conducive environment. In the
end, nobody wants to talk about the problems and tolerated it and after a
breaking point, just leave. This is the real fear that will bring SIA down,
not the little "confrontation" that we are having right now.

It is just like a blind man blaming everybody's else fault for turning off
the lights, without knowing he is fundamentally blind.

That is why we really need a reform in our political structure right down to
the bottom of GLCs. Without a political reform to take the lead, no amount
of talk on "change" could take place at all.

I view this as a step by step movement. First, PAP must be "shell shocked"
by making them loose at least one GRC in the coming elections. But without
the support of the minorities like yourself, I don't think any alternative
political parties could make it. Still possible but maybe winning by narrow
margin.

We have to look at the broader picture instead of the narrowed interests
based on races.

That is why we really need a reform in our political structure right down
to the bottom of GLCs. Without a political reform to take the lead, no
amount of talk on "change" could take place at all.
I view this as a step by step movement. First, PAP must be "shell shocked"
by making them loose at least one GRC in the coming elections. But without
the support of the minorities like yourself, I don't think any alternative
political parties could make it. Still possible but maybe winning by
narrow margin.
We have to look at the broader picture instead of the narrowed interests
based on races.
With due respect, Oppn must also show credibility and seriousness in the
people they field for election. Running S'pore is PAP's game. They set the
rules...no choice one. You wanna win in their own game, you need to play
strictly and carefully by their rules, not against....no matter how shitty
or rigid the rules are. Advantage is given to them but they themselves
still play by their own set rules. In the last election, one GRC team of
Oppn poo'd, why? B'cos of a simple missing signature nia nia. That's not
PAP's fault.

Remember...staying inside polling stn is no longer illegal as proven by PM
Goh and his AG office...that's their game rule.

So you suggest we stay inside the polling stn? hahhaha...

I was not a WP member yet just when the election started. But I think it is
a blessing in disguise that the WP GRC team didn't manage to compete with
George Yeo. Reasons being very simple. If you compete with him, most
probably you won't win, but you will let them have the opportunity to know
which part of Aljunie voted against them most so they could work on it.

Thus, if they are deprived of such information for the next general
election, their feel is "blinded". It is a good thing. The same goes for AMK
GRC. It has not been competed for decades. Thus, nobody knows how the voters
would vote. Thus, it would be interesting to compete in AMK GRC during next
GE, especially when LHL is seeking his "personal mandate" to rule! It is
going to be tough game for him as he too would be "blinded" by the lack of
data.

I think ultimately, their rules will become their hinderance. They might
have dug their own graves by setting the GRC rules. Hahaha... let's see who
have the last laughs. ;)

to be the PM first and the AG on your side to do so :-)

Alamak. Leave AMK out the next election lah. Everyone wants LHL to lead.
Don't you find his ascension to leadership electrifying? Parliament and
newspaper will be boring without him.

For tactical reasons, AMK should not be left out. It is also good to do
"National Service" for Singaporeans, to provide the opportunity for the new
PM to get his own mandate to rule. Please remember, only alternative
political parties could provide such service, not PAP. ;)

It will materialize soon. As my theory sets out to be, PAP will be down with
some impotent politicians incapable to run an election campaign well with
such "backdoor" opportunities provided by GRC.

LOL...
You're barking up the WRONG tree.
Don't even talk about support when there
is NO candidate you can put up.

How many can afford $13,000?
In one swoop....there will never be any
contest....theoretically...the deposit can be
raised to $100,000.....because "if people
are able....they must therefore be rich" type
of spin.

This is the most basic form of robbery by the
rich to steal land from the poor back in history
where the spin is that only the rich is allowed
to control the lives of the poor....and steal their
resource using the law once they have control
over it.
And in modern day....this is manifest by using
entry barriers like the deposit to prevent poor people
from being able to have a say in the running of the
country to protect their interest.

You want to look to the west for help on this?
Forget it....now corporations have usurped the
power of government by making sure that ONLY
the rich and supported can ever get elected....thus
enabling them to ensure that laws are passed to
make it easier for these corporations to continue
to make money at the citizens expense.

Why?
Even the police are now used as a tool
by the RIAA and BSA to further protect their
masters interest when ...IMO....they should be
paying their own expense to protect their IP....
since its only them that benefits....but then we
have to pay the Police to make sure these corporations
interest is protected....LOL

So basically whover wins....the election..
whether PAP or others....its basically something
thats done with the absence of the poor being able
to elect one of their own kind to be their spokesman
unless the deposit is lifted....hence...is it truly
a true and open selection process or just a powecr
grab by those "who can afford" from those who can't?
LOL.

Yes. SIA management is at fault too for the IR problems.
Since the arrival of the new chairman and certain Generals,
the culture of fear and distrust has destroyed the well
known SIA culture.

However, this is not at issue. Are you saying that Ryan
Goh bear no responsibility at all because SIA management
is also at fault. This is flawed logic.
Ryan Goh was the one who stirred shit. Are you saying, he
should not be punished when the top guns at SIA are let off

Ryan Goh was the instigator who plotted the overthrow
of the Exco of ALPA-S.
He fought against the spirit of Tripartite policy of Singapore
...Union, Management and the government.
His action could lead to serious HR problems in SIA, loss
of profit, could put the livelihood of thousands in jeopardy.
He is therefore an undesirable immigrant.

The fire cannot burn without oxygen.

I do not think Capt Ryan Goh is at faul at all. What's wrong to fight for
your fellow colleagues' benefits? Fighting for collateral benefits is wrong?
Well, this might be speculations but I don't see why anyone in his position
need to make things difficult; especially so when he is not a citizen that
could gain any political mileage.

Well, maybe you are trying to suggest that he is a "spy" from some
unfriendly countries that are here to rock the boat and sink all of us.
Maybe so, but apparently, ISD didn't find anything to suggest that yet.

I have moved motions in NUS student union to EOGM the NUSSU President
too.... so I must be "evil"? Not necessary so.

IN my view, the adminstration is killing a chicken to let all monkeys fell
afraid. That's how "ineffective" dynasties rule their subjects; that's also
how Japanese rule Asia by instilling fear. But we all know such tactic only
works for a while and all these dynasties and militant rulers don't last
long.

If SIA really thinks that Capt Ryan Goh is "evil", must well sack him. Why
not retrench him? But have to go through such big publicity blizz of using
the whole nation's machinery like ICA to deal with a single person? This is
in effect a psychological game that the adminstration is playing; to show
its might and power to those potential "trouble makers" who are out to
oppose it. And this is building up the ground for the coming elections.
Elections might just happen this year end, by the look of it.

Look deeper and beyond the surface, you would be either be "enlightened" or
"astonished".

Are you saying, he
should not be punished when the top guns at SIA are let off
without a rapped on the knuckles?
Ryan Goh should pay for his folly and SIA management
should not be let off that easily.

IT is SIA management which is the ROOT of the HR problem! They have shot
the wrong guy lah! If anybody should be shot, it should be those in HR
management as well as the top management of SIA that should get the boot!

Why the word 'could'? Where is proof that he 'did'.
You mean in S'pore, a man can be charged base on the potential of him being
a criminal? Even LKY couldn't profile him as a criminal wannabe....only a
smart but 'disloyal' PR. Even that, where is proof of Ryan's intent to
damage the holy trinity? Can you deny that maybe, just maybe, the newly
elected Ex-Co can do a better job?

If he so undesirable, then why not use ISA to jail him indefinitely right
now like those JI suspects?
