One wonders if the main reason for lost votes was solely on this one
- the rising of home prices..

According to a survey that was mentioned in a spin program, it said
the lost votes in the May election was due to "intransparency".

In other words, it could mean the people of Singapore are not happy
with the intransparency of govt with them.

This "intransparecy" was reported in the program on "spin" now being
repeated in Channelnewsasia channel.

In that program, the one from a firm said the lost of votes in the May
election was due to "intransprancry".

The Spin is a program discussiing with owners of PR firms and their
variety public relation actions with the public for their clients, and
they included of public surveys and opinion surveys on outcomes,
etc.

It's everything,

1. expensive home price.
2. bad public transport, and hear those cocky statements from SMRT.
3. NS men not paid with market rate compensation, when everyone one
must pay everything according to "market rate", housing , education ,
transport, medical.
4. constant praise on other people children, "foreign talents", and
everyone can see they are just a bunch of opportunistic low skilled
labour.
5. low talent in cabinet. TPL, WKS are talents? who is idiot?
6. scholarship for foreigners but own people must pay for "market
rate" education.

-------

There's a long list of reasons, but to sum up the votes were lost
because 40% of the people realised that the PAP were in power for
themselves rather than for the peasants. The last general elections
saw a peasants' revolt.

Very well be. DO you know hoo a stat board staff is being assessed for
the performance appraisal? It is very strange thing mixed with a
cloudy and unclear ranking system.

For example, staff is assigned a scale of O1 to O3 for over
expeectation, a M for meeting the expectation, and U for under
expectation. So, when your supervisor assess you, you are happy to
know you get many Os, but you do not which O you are given. So it
appears to you during appraisal, you look pretty good. But somehow,
when this appraisal was channeled up to the highest mgt levels, and
they will play magic number as to who get how many months of
Performance bonus and who do not get at all. The problem is, the only
person who know your job well is your direct supervisor, and if you
supervisor is a weak one who will not fight for you, and only give you
a lower O, then you will be pushed down by the higher mgt who may not
know your nature of work and how you diligently contributed in your
wworks. That's how it works in the half civil service org. It is
terrible. you will see people who are not performing according to
their essential core business will get their months of bonuses without
fail, while you at the bottom will get nothing, even though you have
worked and contributed diligently at the bottom level.

------

If you're the son of a minister I suppose your supervisor will give
you O3 all the way in every area. And if you're unlucky enough to be
in the same dept as the son of a minister, I suppose you may even get
a U because your supervisor needs to show you're a poor performer in
order for the minister's son to look very good. Never trust a yes-man
assessment; he gives his assessment according to what he thinks his
own supervisor will like to see.

If LKY kept using the phrase "it cannot be help", it shows the PAP are
unwilling to change their ways.

Most Singaporeans are quite resign to this fact.

For example, the population issue the PAP have to address it
holistically and not just solve the problem by building more HDB flats
or having more MRT trains or more roads.

In short, Singaporean desire a lower population growth for their own
well being due to the fact that there are already way too many neighbour
dispute or crime or loan shark problem arising from high population growth.

In addition, judging from the fact that more Singaporean are venting
their frustrations at front line civil servants as well as some PAP MPs,
it shows LHL or PAP have not resolve the underlying "pandering to the
foreigners" perception.

Ironically, even some foreigners especially expats noticed our PAP govt
is pandering to their needs in expense to the locals.
